Server Commands

Some commands are only available to other Servers or Netops/IRC Ops   
(This list is still being completed :)

ADCHAT

Sends a message to all server admins (+A). 
Syntax: /ADCHAT :<text>  NOTE: The ':' is required.

ADDCONF

Writes the exact line inputted from irc into the ircd.conf. Limited to only server admins.
Syntax: /ADDCONF <line>

ADDNEWS

Writes the exact line inputted from irc into the ircd.news. Limited to only server admins. Can be viewed by typing /news
Syntax: /ADDNEWS <line>

ADDRULES

Writes the exact line inputted from irc into the ircd.rules. Limited to only server admins. Can be viewed by typing /rules
Syntax: /ADDRULES <line>

ADMIN

 

AKILL

Auto-kills and bans the specificed hostmask from the network. 
Syntax: /AKILL <nick!user@host> <reason> 

ANNOUNCE

Send <message> to all online users
Syntax: /ANNOUNCE <message> 

AWAY

 

CHANSERV

 

CHATOPS

Sends a message to all ircops using +b flag.
Syntax: /CHATOPS :<text>  NOTE: The ':' is required. 

CLOSE

 

CONNECT

Local connect: Links together two servers. 
Local = Your're on one of the servers which is about to link to another. 
Syntax: /CONNECT <servername>

Remote connect: Links together two servers.
Remote = You're not on any of the two servers which are getting linked.
Syntax: /CONNECT <server1> <port> <server2>

DIE

Shuts down current irc server.
Syntax: /DIE <possibly need passwd>

DISPLAY

Displays the file filename to the user (for current server)
Syntax: /DISPLAY <filename>  

DNS

 

DREAM

Gives a client a Dream, which is displayed in their WHOIS and WHO
Syntax: /DREAM <message>     

ERROR

 

FQUIT

 

GAG

Gags a user so they can not send any messages to server.  (0 seconds = permanent gag)
Syntax: /gag <user> <reason> <seconds>

GLINE

Creates a network-ban on the user@host. Also the ban may be timed.
Syntax: /GLINE <user@host> <seconds> <reason>

GLOBOPS

Sends a message to all opers with +g flag on. 
Syntax: /GLOBOPS :<text>  NOTE: The ':' is required. 

GNOTICE

Send <message> to all +g users on the same server only
Syntax: /GNOTICE <message>   

GOPER

Send <message> to all +o users network wide
Syntax: /GOPER <message>

JOIN

Join a channel
Channels are a name starting with a # or &.
#channels are global, &channels only exist on one server
Syntax: /JOIN Channelname

Special case to Part all currently joined channels
Syntax :/JOIN 0              

KICK

 

KILL

Kills the specified user off the server, but the user may reconnect. 
Syntax: /KILL <user1,user2,user3...> <reason>

KLINE

Adds a local server ban.
Syntax: /KLINE <nick> or <user@host> <reason>

KNOCK

Knocks on a +K chan and lets them now why you want in the channel.
Syntax: /knock <room> <reason>

Rakill: Removes an akill.
Syntax: /RAKILL <nick!user@host> 

REHASH

Rehash: Reloads the ircd.conf (Used when changes are made in the ircd.conf). 
Syntax: /REHASH

REMGLINE

Rem Gline: Removes a gline.
Syntax: /REMGLINE <user@host>

RESTART

Restart: Restarts the server you are on. 
Syntax: /RESTART <possibly need passwd>

RULES

Displays the ircd.rules file to the user (for current server)
Syntax: /RULES

Sethost: Changes your hostname to whatever you want. 
Syntax: /SETIDENT <new host>

SETIDENT

SetIdent: Changes your ident to whatever you want. 
Syntax: /setident <new ident>

/SILENCE +<nick>        Messages from <nick> are not forwarded to you(same as mIRC /ignore)

/SILENCE -<nick>        Messages from <nick> are forwarded.

SNOTE

Server note: Writes a message to the server and is saved to file.
Syntax: /SNOTE <text>

SNOTES

Server notes: Opers can view messages posted on the server.
Syntax: /SNOTES <#>

Server quit: Delinks the server you are on from the specified server.

Syntax: /UNKLINE <user@host>

UPING

Ping the named server.  Port defaults to 7005, # of pings defaults to 5
Syntax: /UPING <server> [port] [#]

Wallops: Sends text to the server, anyone with +w may listen but must be an IRCop to send the message.
Syntax: /WALLOPS <message>

/WATCH                  Displays the users Watch list
/WATCH +<nick>          Adds a nick to a users Watch list
/WATCH -<nick>          Removes the nick
/WATCH C                Removes (Clears) all nicks
/WATCH L                Lists all online nicks
/WATCH S                Shows Watch statistics
