Other than the general news/alert list, all mailing lists are single opt-in, and removal is automated. Membership in the general news/alert list is mandatory and will be used only by the adminstrator(s) for matters regarding the appropriate domains. Any e-mail in the account will be deleted. Should forwarding be requested, the administrator(s) will perform their best effort to comply.
Unsolicited Commercial E-mail Policy:
No unsolicited commercial e-mail (UCE) or "spam" will be tolerated by the administrator(s). Users originating UCE from this server may have their access revoked (Revocation will occur on technerd.net unconditionally. Revocation on hosted domains is subject to review by the owners of the appropriate domains.). In addition, if users of any hosted domain find UCE in their in-boxes, they are encouraged to contact the abuse address who will take all reasonable actions to eliminate the offending party. (Please remember to enable full headers in your mail client before forwarding.) In addition, automated UCE detection, by SpamAssassin, Spamhaus, Wirehub, DSBL.ORG, and RFC-Ignorant.org is on-line and ORDB support is installed and functioning. Incoming mail is also checked via a domain blackhole list, the contents of which are created and maintained by the administrator(s). technerd.net reserves the right to connect to mail servers listed in incoming mail in order to verify the addresses of originators of the incoming mail, and such connections will be used for that purpose only. technerd.net does not perform active open relay scanning at any time. on connection to our IRC services using BOPM - Blitzed Open Proxy Monitor the results of which scans are submitted to the BOPM DNS Blacklist. technerd.net further reserves the right to filter incoming and outgoing mail and block connections from external domains at will for any reason, including, but not limited to, the reduction of incoming UCE.
Some mail may be blocked by the spam filtering technology in place. Neither technerd.net nor it's hosted domains bear any liability for mail erroneously blocked, but will take all actions in their power to prevent such "false positives". Please be aware with the escalating rate of spam, more vigorous action must be taken and, as such, occasionally mistakes will be made. To help prevent accidental deletions, all filtered mail will be saved and manually verified. As such, all contents of incorrectly filtered mail will be kept in best confidence by the administrator(s). Messages determined to be spam may be forwarded to a filtering software vendor for software testing and enhancement, but will be kept in best confidence.
By using technerd.net for mail services, you hereby agree to the above terms of service.

About Your Privacy
Privacy in email
In personal email communications, there has always been, and always should be, an expectation of privacy between the sender and the intended recipients of a message, enabling open communication with friends, colleagues, family, and others.
Privacy is compromised, however, if personal information or private email content is shared with parties other than the sender and intended recipients without their consent. This is not the case when people use technerd.net. Technerd.net does not share or reveal email content or personal information with third parties. Email messages remain strictly between the sender and intended recipients, even when only one of the parties is a technerd.net user.
Of course, the law and common sense dictate some exceptions. These exceptions include requests by users that technerd.net's support staff access their email messages in order to diagnose problems; when technerd.net is required by law to do so; and when we are compelled to disclose personal information because we reasonably believe it's necessary in order to protect the rights, property or safety of technerd.net, its users and the public.
Scanning email content
All email services scan your email. They do this routinely to provide such popular features as spam filtering, virus detection, search, spellchecking, forwarding, auto-responding, flagging urgent messages, converting incoming email into cell phone text messages, automatic saving and sorting into folders, converting text URLs to clickable links, and reading messages to the blind. These features are widely accepted, trusted, and used by hundreds of millions of people every day.
Technerd.net scans the text of email messages in order to filter spam and detect viruses, just as all major webmail services do. This is completely automated and involves no humans. Occasionally we may manually human scan email to train our spam filters with current email content to improve its spam scoring abilities or other routine maintenance and troubleshooting of the servers*.
Privacy in IRC Chat
IRC and other real-time "chat" conference services, in which participants type live messages directly to the computer screens of other participants should note that chat room users may capture, store, and transmit these communications to others outside the chat service. Additionally, these activities including private chat (privmsg and query) are subject to the same monitoring exceptions and monitoring consent by technerd.net that apply to e-mail per the TOS.
When we may disclose your personal information. As a standard email protocol, when you send an email from your technerd.net account, technerd.net includes your email address and user name in the header of the email. Beyond this, we do not disclose your personally identifying information to third parties unless we believe we are required to do so by law or have a good faith belief that such access, preservation or disclosure is reasonably necessary to (a) satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process or governmental request, (b) enforce the technerd.net Terms of Use**, including investigation of potential violations thereof, (c) detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues (including, without limitation, the filtering of spam), (d) respond to user support requests, or (e) protect the rights, property or safety of technerd.net, its users and the public.
